Potosi to Sucre, Bolivia.
Transferred to Nuevo Bus Terminal, where we had to pay 2B each for
the privilege of using the terminal!
Impressed by a stack of food/snacks which a vendor had started to
construct since 5am that morning. She
has to deconstruct at the end of each day. I bought stuff we didn’t need.
Took public bus from Potosi to Sucre – about 3 hours, but quite
comfortable seats. More donkeys appearing as well as the usual llamas. Also a
wild boar. Dumped bags at the Villa
Antigua Hotel which was gorgeous. Rooms on the third floor (no lift
unfortunately, so regret weight of suitcase), but fabulous views over Sucre and
lovely courtyards with tables/chairs for socialising.
Afternoon walk to Parque Bolivar – the huge park in front of Corte Suprema de
Justicia and down to the Teatro Cran Mariscal Sucre. The railway station at the end was sadly
again closed and derelict. Very few
railways in Bolivia seem to be working. Roads are the main transport method.
Lots of hickledypickledy houses
of different colours and most with some sort of balcony (some enclosed to keep
the heat in).

Dropped a pile of laundry off at
the first launderette we’ve found on this trip. Worth every penny if they don’t
lose any of it.
Hello Linda and Iain, I've just spent a very pleasant hour or so catching up on your blog and learning about your adventures. What a fabulous trip you're having. I take it you've yet to update your blog (internet issues no doubt) but look forward to the next instalment. All our love Steph and Lu xxxx
