Transfer day to Santiago.
Up late, leisurely breakfast and catch up drafting blog.
Wifi intermittent and can’t do any on-line banking etc. Met Loretta and Mary at
the lake, then found most of the rest of the tribe at a nice little street
restaurant. Ice-cold beers and some dry
white wine helped the day pass with a couple of large pizzas that we shared. Finally found a post office (closed to 2.30)
to buy some Chilean stamps. Never did find an Argentinian post office. Taxi back to the hotel who had helpfully put
all of our bags in one room, and collected for a transfer to Temuco
airport. Easy check-in as only two
flights leaving that evening, and only three gates anyway.
Flight was uneventful, but a bonus when we arrived at
Santiago was that Gunna had arrived about half-hour earlier. He had actually
wanted to stay resting his leg for a couple of days but the hotel was full and
the tour company had given him duff information. So he limped his way to re-join us. Still not sure whether he should get his
insurance company to just fly him home, but he wants to continue the full tour.
